I have been a business owner for 35 years
From 1983-1988 I took a business sabbatical
and moved to the Philippines with my wife
Rina and
our small children where we worked as
community developers. The focus of our work was primarily health
care and income generation for families with malnourished children.
In 1988 we returned to our home and business in Prince George.
In 1989 I began doing volunteer work assisting
families in crisis.
During this time
I became aware that there was
and still is a need for more supportive
services for
those who have been victimized, therefore, in May 2000 I created the
Doors of Hope website
www.doorsofhope.com.
Doors of Hope is a community based website and provides
online support information for victims of crime, abuse, domestic
violence, and sudden death.
For more detailed information on child abuse please see
www.stopchildabuse.ca.
With my partner
Loriann Greenall we assist those families cancer or seriously
illness who must travel great distances from home
with Video/Voice Conferencing. Please see
www.windowsofhope.ca
Highway of Tears -
I have known the pain
and hurt in our community when volunteering with the RCMP Victim
Services from 1989 to December of 2005. In November of 2005 the
media ones again made us aware of a missing girl Tamara Chipman from
the Terrace community. It was this that prompted me to check if I
could assist the families so that their children would not be
forgotten and registered the website
www.highwayoftears.com
It is my prayer that
through the Highway of Tears website stories of those missing or
murdered may be told. These were children deserving to be loved and
cared about.
If any of these
special children are known to you, please write me with a special
story.
